A new report from the National Wildlife Federation

More severe heat waves are on the horizon, and risks for people in urban areas are particularly severe – especially the very young, the elderly, and the poor, who already face disproportionate incidence of special risk factors like asthma and heart disease. Fortunately, if bold steps are taken now to slow warming trends, these risks can be managed.
