The Climate Gap: Inequalities in How Climate Change Hurts Americans & How to Close the Gap

The Climate Gap focuses its sites on California to determine how vulnerable citizens across the United States will cope as the environment responds to climate change.

On the international level it is widely recognized that poorer less developed countries - who are least responsible for causing climate change - are also the most vulnerable to its effects. The Climate Gap explores how similar disparities manifest in the United States – often across racial and socio-economic lines. The report's authors propose a set of criteria for climate policies that close rather than exacerbate current inequities. They argue that polices designed with our most vulnerable populations in mind will actually yield the greatest benefits for all.
